So I’ve been dealing with acne since middle school, and now I’m 24 years old. I’m still dealing with it, the difference is now I know things that work for me. I always have acne on my face (mostly cheeks, chin, and nose) and back. My skin type is oily-dry (oily on the t-zone area and dry on the cheeks). When I got acne, I always got it big but had no whiteheads, so it’s painful and takes a long time to heal. So if you have a similar skin type, these acne skincare products I use might work for you.
So here is my secret acne skincare routine that helps to clear out my acne:
1. Lendava Face Cleansing Oil (Bareface)
I love this face-cleansing oil from Lendava! This brand send me their products to try and I’ve been in love since. Not to mention it’s also my first time trying cleansing oil to clean my makeup. I use this almost every day, especially if I use makeup during the day. This is my double cleansing before I use my micellar water.
2. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Gentle Peeling Water
I used to have the pink and blue one, but now Granier has the new version with gentle peeling while you clean your face. This is also my favorite brand, I’ve been using this brand since middle school. I use this at night after cleansing oil, or most of the time I only use this as I don’t often use makeup.
3. Cerave Acne Control Cleanser
As I mentioned above, I only use my facial wash at night. This brand is my favorite facial wash for acne. It’s pretty gentle and doesn’t give you a tight feeling after use. More importantly, it has ingredients that help you fight acne.
4. Cosrx Oil-Free Moisturizer
I have been using this moisturizer for 3 months, but so far I love it – don’t give me any breakout. I’ve been using this for my morning and night moisturizer. More importantly, it does what it says on the bottle “Oil-FREE Moisturizer” so you better believe it does control oil on my face. I like using this when acne on my face calms down and when I feel like doing some makeup, it helps to make my makeup stay on.
5. Cetaphil Mattifying Acne Moisturizer
I found this way before the moisturizer above. While treating my acne, this moisturizer did help me a whole lot. It has a thick texture but doesn’t leave any white cast, also it absorbs quickly into the skin. I don’t use this as often now, as my acne has gotten a lot better than before. I use this for morning and night.
6. Good Molecules Niacinamide Serum
If you watch TikTok, you probably already know this brand. I bought this when it went viral haha. Now I know why – It did work to help my acne and dark spots on my skin. Also, the price is relatively cheap, I got mine for $6 for 30 ml. I like using this in the morning and night.
7. Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment
This is my favorite acne spot treatment! When I only have small acne, I like to put this on at night and the next morning just magically gone haha.
8. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen 55 Spf
Sunscreen is important! So I like using them even when I’m not going out. I like this sunscreen because the price is affordable and still does the job. More importantly, it didn’t give me any breakouts. But this sunscreen is a bit heavy and sometimes leaves a white cast if I don’t blend the right. But I’m too scared to try new products haha, because I finally healed my acne.
9. The Ordinary Glycolic Acid
The last acne skin care product that I love so much is glycolic acid from The Ordinary. It’s super affordable and you can use for your body too. I use this as tone to exfoliate my face once a week.
Building effective acne skincare routine can take time and patience. A lot time you won’t find products that will help with your acne right away. I took me a long time to find all these acne skincare routine and products that works for me. But remember consistency is a key, don’t give up! Choose something that works for your skin. It take patience to achieve healthier, clearer skin.
