When it comes to Valentine’s Day, we always think it is only for couples and can be a sort of sad day for single people. In my opinion, celebrating Valentine’s Day should never be hurt. This should be a day when no one feels left out. Valentine’s Day Is For Everyone.
Before I met Chris, I used to hate all the things about Valentine’s Day. I used to think that Valentine’s Day was only for people who have lovey-dovey relationships. So my life always felt miserable back then, cause I didn’t have somebody to share my feelings with.
Every time on February 14th I would just spend all my day watching my K-Drama and locked myself in my room. But that kind of thought has changed, now that I have my own family. I feel like I can have Valentine’s Day every day, even just to celebrate myself. It’s not that because I have my own family now, but I realized that Valentine’s Day should be a more celebratory, empowering, grateful, and love-filled day for everyone.
I also want my kids to have the mindset that we can celebrate and share the love with the people around us every day. I want them to know how their words and actions can make a big impact on others.

But anyway, I also found out that celebrating Galentine’s Day and Malentine’s Day is now a trend. If you don’t know, Galentine’s Day is for women to celebrate with their friends, and Malentine’s Day is the male equivalent.
The love you have for your friends is different from the love you have for your significant other. You can go to dinner with your significant other, but you could also send your parents or friends a Valentine’s card telling them how much you appreciate and love them. You could donate to charity, or you could even buy yourself a gift to appreciate yourself. All types of love should be appreciated and celebrated with those around you.
What Can You Do On Valentine’s Day For Everyone?
Show Appreciation To Your Love One
Sharing specifics about what you love about your partner can be an incredibly romantic gesture. Think about a time when you felt a lot of love for your partner, or think about the reason why you feel like they’re your home. Describe all that in detail in your Valentine’s Day card.
Find Ways To Add A Little Positivity
If you’re single, Valentine’s Day can be tough sometimes. But you can find ways to turn the holiday around. Perhaps you want to watch an anti-Valentine’s Day movie or celebrate your little achievements. In my single era, I like to spend my February 14th watching my K-Drama. It’s just that K-Drama always succeeds in making me forget about the world hahaha. If you don’t know what K-Drama is, K-Drama is a Korean Drama that usually has so many episodes with a good story hahaha. The first K-drama that made me fall in love with the Korean movie industry is Boys Over Flowers.
Throw A Galentine’s Or Malentine’s Event
Galentine’s or Malentine’s has been a recent trend on Valentine’s Day. It is usually celebrated a week or even a day before Valentine’s Day. It’s the day to celebrate female or male friendships in your life. Gather your friends for a fun night together, whether you want to go out or stay in. It can be as simple as dessert or drinks. You can even choose what kind of fun activity you want to do, like playing a game or exchanging little gifts.
Get Your Kids Involved
Sometimes we might forget that we can include kids in the love-dovey fun of Valentine’s Day. While they are probably having Valentine’s Day at school, you can find more ways to bring them joy (even if it’s just a day celebrating with little Valentine’s Day gifts). Look for something fun to do together, you can let them make DIY Valentine’s Day cards for their grandparents or school friends, or even let them involved in the kitchen to make heart-shaped pizza for family Valentine’s Day dinner.
Take A Pottery Class
Still not sure how to spend your Valentine’s Day? Try to sign up for the pottery class. You can go with your Valentines, friends, or even go solo. Anyway you decide, trying a new hobby is always fun. Getting a new hobby, and getting out of our comfort zone is one of the ways to live a life to its fullest!
So whatever you choose to do on Valentine’s Day, remember that Valentine’s Day is for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you are a couple or single, everyone got to enjoy the holiday of love. Nobody should ever feel left out for Valentine’s Day.
